H3PW12O40 and Nano-sized Titania Supported on Urea Formaldehyde Resin for Photo catalytic Decolorization of Dye Pollutants in Aqueous Solution
Authors
Abstract:
In this work, H3PW12O40 (PPT) and nano-sized titania supported on urea formaldehyde (UF) resinwas prepared via an impregnation method. The prepared sample was characterized by X-raydiffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The photocatalytic activity of the PPT/TiO2/UF sample was evaluated by the decolorization of BromothymolBlue (BB), Direct Yellow12 (DY) and Texas Red (TR) dye solutions under UV-Vis and visiblelight irradiation. The optical property of the PPT/TiO2/UF sample was evaluated by UV-Visspectrum. The effect of photocatalyst dosage and dye concentration on photo catalyticdecolorization of dyes was investigated. Photo catalytic efficiency of the PPT/TiO2/UF sample wascompared with TiO2/UF sample. Moreover, the reusability of the sample was examined.

full textSorption Study of Acid Blue in Aqueous Solution by Synthetic Poly Urea-Formaldehyde
Poly urea-formaldehyde was synthesized simply and rapidly from urea and formaldehyde by condensation polymerization and studied for the sorption of trace acid blue from aqueous solution. The optimum pH value for sorption of the acid blue was 4. Experimental results showed that the sorption capacity of poly urea-formaldehyde for acid blue was determined. The synthetic polymer can be reused for 5...
full textStructure formation in urea-formaldehyde resin synthesis
The structure formation in acid promoted polycondensation and particularly in alkaline post-treatment with urea was studied by 13C NMR spectroscopy in the three-step synthesis of ureaformaldehyde resins. Trishydroxymethyl urea was identified as the constituent of the mixture of hydroxylmethylated urea derivatives obtained in alkaline conditions. The formation of methylenes linked to secondary o...
